Trail des Ebihens 2011

Namaste/ Hello/ Bonjour,

This is me Prakash (Ram Kumar Ghimire), a Nepalese guy studying in Sweden. I am again back to St. Jacut de la Mer for the second time. Mr. Claude Feillatre and the foundation Association Little World Nepal France had invited me during my vacation, once again to be involved in interaction with the  people, mainly  in the event Trail des Ebihens and little Fete in the local school from St. Jacut. I just want to share some of my experience of being here Bretagne to the well- wishers and supporters of Association Little World Nepal France.

(Trail des Ebihens 12 June 2011)

Let me begin with one of the biggest event of this little village, St. Jacut. Like last year, I got to see the running event Trail des Ebihens live with my eyes. I was really pleased to be here. So far I know, this is one of the most difficult races in France. And even after watching the race one could easily admit the fact. The 8th edition of Trail des Ebihens, was in June 12. The weather was such a bad that I thought not much people will participate. But, later what surprised me was that, I could see the lines and lines of people getting ready for race. I believe almost 500 people took part in the race. It was rainy all the time until the race was over. I was really excited to watch how the runners deal with the weather so I followed them on my little bicycle. Even I went down to the sea place, where because of low tide runners could run all the way to the island far across. This is mainly the specialty of race. So, the runners are supposed run on roads, sands, rocks, sea gravels, wet mud, and even in water. I am sure if some stranger watches this race, he might think the people to be crazy running in such a bad and rainy weather.

Now let me talk about the motive of Association Little World Nepal France in this event. Being a Nepali guy, I really have to salute the foundation for their Helping hands to Nepal. Before I arrived here, I did not have much idea about their objectives from this race.  An ambulance in a little village in Nepal was the main target of the foundation. They were supposed to collect funds from the sponsors. Sometime, I feel pity on me and my country because someone so far are trying and willing to provide aid for people‘s betterment and we being the citizens of same country are unable to solve our problems. Hope someday we youths would rise and work ourselves for the better life of we Nepalese.

Moreover, I was pleased to see many people willing to help the foundation to achieve their goal. Some people try to interact with me. I had problems as I could not speak good French. But I had some good interaction with the people who could speak English. At least I was able to give idea to the people about the problems for education to the kids from remote villages and several other scarcities in Nepal.

To conclude, I really enjoyed and had good time at this event. At last again, a big THANK YOU to Association Little World Nepal France and the all the supporters and helpers of it. I know such little effort can make great change in the lives of needy people.

Good luck for such great objectives in upcoming days……… Cheers!!
